Ganesh - In Hindu mythology Ganesha, the elephant headed God, is the remover of obstacles, and God of beginnings. This painting is an homage to auspicious beginnings. It’s used colors, intentional markings, and texture including metal leaf, to bring the point home.
I took a chance last year and shifted gears as an artist, marking a new beginning. It was not easy for many reasons, and yet, it sold. People bought those paintings. That left me wanting to do explore more. Push boundaries.
My latest collection is rooted in India, but shaped by my life in NYC. Since Lord Ganesh stands for auspicious beginnings, what better than this painting to start off?
