Dévi / Goddess
Powerful and fierce, the Goddess pose in yoga represents the feminine force that created the universe, and is inspired by Goddess Kāli (see my previous work featuring her - Kālikā).
To me, this posture is an ode to the divine feminine-elegant, unapologetic, confident & proud. Ladies, our dress size doesn’t matter, our weight doesn’t matter. Make up, hair, high heels neither. What’s critical is to realize our strength, deep within our bones. Society will keep sending us messed up messages. Businesses will base their turnovers on stoking ridiculous insecurities. But, we must know The Truth.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? // It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others’ ~ Marianne Williamson
