Complex textures, markings, and tonalities of this artwork allude to the hamster wheel humanity finds itself on. An increasingly digital world at our fingertips translates to fragmented attention spans, spiraling anxieties, and worryingly, a sense of inadequacy. As mother of two young children, including one teenager, I closely study the evolving lifestyles of kids and young adults. We need to disconnect, recenter, and reboot. To go offline, and inwards. To shun data being hurled our way, in favor of educating ourselves in mindfulness. This painting depicts the power of breaking through the trance of everyday banalities in order to seek healing, peace, and most importantly, a healthy perspective.
